Accounts Payable Specialist at Tao Group

The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for compiling amounts owed by the company to vendors, suppliers, or other organizations/individuals, gathering purchase orders, charge slips, sales tickets, etc., and preparing proper payments. The AP Specialist will maintain all payments and/or other transaction records

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Stamp and sort incoming mail; separate it into batch categories
  • Obtain proper approval on invoices for payment,
  • Input and pay by individual invoice
  • Maintain A/P and Vendor files
  • Monitor entertainment and maintenance contracts to ensure timely payment to service providers and entertainers
  • Reconcile A/P and G/L monthly in connection with the monthly closing process to ensure accuracy in financial reporting
  • Reconcile vendor statements
  • Responsible for receiving against purchase order for liquor
  • Reconcile and prepares forms for 1099 annually
  • Communicate with GL accountants about intercompany charges
  • Assist all departments with A/P inquiries
  • Work on special projects as assigned
  • Assist and/ or complete additional tasks as assigned

EDUCATION / WORKING KNOWLEDGE

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Associates Degree in Accounting preferred
  • 21+ years of age 
  • Two plus (2+) years of accounting experience or related experience preferred
  • Great Plains experience preferred
  • Experience in casino or restaurant preferred
  • Proficient in Windows Office, Microsoft Office, Mac OSX, POS systems

  • 5-25% Local Travel (United States) 
  • Work in an environment that is subject to varying levels of noise, crowds, and smoke, the severity of which depends upon the guest volume
  • May work extended hours irregular shifts, evening and/or weekend shifts, and holiday work may be required
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
  • Ability to handle a fast-paced, busy, and somewhat stressful environment
  • Must be effective as part of a team; ability to interact with internal and external customers, managers, and co-workers in a professional, courteous manner
