The role of Payroll Analyst is responsible for the accounting functions of payroll for US-based venues. Review and submit 8027 information to the payroll team for year-end processing. Responsible for entering payroll billings into the MGM portal for timely funding; reconcile all payroll entries from a third-party vendor.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
- Reconcile US payroll liability accounts to the general ledger monthly
- Set up and maintain city, state, and local tax accounts with all US agencies for payroll tax purposes as well as close and reconcile any existing or dormant tax accounts.
- Reconcile weekly payroll taxes and other liability to ensure accurate payroll reporting. Maintain UI, SDI, ETF, WA L&I, and all payroll tax liability accounts to include new location set ups, updating rates annually for existing locations and ensuring jurisdictions are balanced.
- Prepare tax reports and reconcile reports to weekly/bi-weekly payrolls, after each processing period.
- Create reports from the weekly payroll data and distribute them to appropriate departments and branded venues, if applicable. Send information to Payroll Director and VP, Global Payroll for review
- Prepare MGM and other Managed venue payroll information, including but not limited to, MGM portal information as well as other venue payroll liability.
- Assist with all payroll uploads to include banquet tip sheets, host and promoter commissions, bonus and other payroll information for the nightclub and restaurants.
- Track all stale payroll checks and reconcile them to ensure compliance with state dormancy laws.
- Reconcile new weekly/monthly stale check notifications. File escheatment reports with each individual state if unable to reissue.
- Report Workers Comp payroll data and reconcile monthly payroll reporting with Risk Department. Compile Workers Comp payroll data monthly.
- Review and reconcile quarterly tax documents including 941s, quarterly state and UI filings, including but not limited to, processing adjustments, creating reports for federally mandated tax credits as well as file, initiate and reconcile amendments where necessary.
- Assist with other duties as assigned
- Assist and/ or complete additional tasks as assigned
EDUCATION/WORKING KNOWLEDGE:
- Minimum of three (3) years experience in Accounting and Payroll with emphasis on payroll tax filing and reconciliation, tax jurisdiction set up.
- Proficient in Windows MS Office; advanced – excellent knowledge of excel
- Working knowledge or experience with the Oracle payroll platform
- Prior experience with managed venue billing, as well as Union payroll. Worker’s comp payroll reporting and reconciliation a plus
- High School Diploma required or equivalent. College degree preferred
- Proof of eligibility to work in the United States
- Maintain a professional, neat, and well-groomed appearance adhering to Company standards
- Proficient in Windows Microsoft Office, POS systems, Oracle knowledge preferred
- 21+ years of age
