The role of Payroll Analyst is responsible for the accounting functions of payroll for US-based venues. Balance benefit-related balance sheet accounts; Review and submit 8027 information to the payroll team for year-end processing. Responsible for entering payroll billings into the MGM portal for timely funding; reconcile all payroll entries from a third-party vendor.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
- Reconcile US payroll liability accounts to the general ledger monthly
- Set up and maintain US state tax accounts with all US agencies for payroll tax purposes as well as close and reconcile any existing or dormant tax accounts.
- Reconcile weekly payroll taxes and other liability before preparing journal entries
- Prepare payroll journal entries, if applicable, after each processing period and submit them to the Controller/Accounting team to review and approve in a timely manner. Prepare payroll reclass journal entries as needed
- Create reports from the weekly payroll data and distribute them to appropriate departments and branded venues
- Prepare MGM and other Managed venue payroll information for the accounting team, including but not limited to, MGM portal information as well as other venue payroll liability.
- Balance various payroll accounts with explanation and detail to the general ledger for all venues owned and managed
- Keep track of banquet billings and commissions for the nightclub and restaurants. Send information to Payroll Director
- Track all stale payroll checks and reconcile them with the payroll team. File escheatment reports with each individual state if unable to reissue
- Report Workers Comp payroll data to the insurance agency per the schedule outlined in the instructions
- Review and reconcile quarterly tax documents including 941s, including but not limited to, health insurance deductions, and any state or federally-mandated tax credits as well as file and initiate and reconcile amendments where necessary
- Assist with other duties as assigned
EDUCATION/WORKING KNOWLEDGE:
- Minimum of three (3) years experience in Accounting and Payroll with emphasis on general ledger reconciliation and payroll tax reconciliation and filing
- Proficient in Windows MS Office; advanced – excellent knowledge of excel
- Working knowledge or experience with the Oracle payroll platform
- Prior experience with managed venue billing and reconciliation a plus
- High School Diploma required or equivalent. College degree preferred
- Proof of eligibility to work in the United States
- 21+ years of age
- Maintain a professional, neat, and well-groomed appearance adhering to Company standards
- Must be able to obtain the necessary state/venue work cards
