Manhatta is a restaurant and full-service event space from Danny Meyer’s Union Square Hospitality Group, combining sky-high views with down-to-earth hospitality.
Who you are: The Maintenance Personnel is responsible for overseeing the maintenance of all events hosted at Manhatta including the set-up of furniture and fixtures. The primary responsibility will be working with the events; however, there is some overlap with maintenance needs on the restaurant side. This person will be required to maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment for all employees and operations. We are looking to fill this role for the holiday season, with potential for long term employment.
What you’ll do:
- Consistently support a culture of Enlightened Hospitality
- Maintain a clean event space, including but not limited to sweeping and mopping floors, dusting of walls and fixtures, vacuuming carpets, and cleaning bathrooms
- Immediately resolve minor repairs such as hanging light bulbs, getting floor re-stained or filling in scratches
- Movement of furniture: tables, chairs, couches, lounge furniture
- Coordinate with both kitchen and service teams during events to ensure both have the necessary supplies needed to properly execute the event (i.e. CGS, linens, disposables, decor)
- Coordinate with event staff at the end of an event to ensure each room is flipped from the current event and set for the next
- Coordinate with the dishwashing team to ensure all used CGS is returned to its proper storage location
What we need from you:
- Previous experience in maintenance or in a similar setting
- Ability to move and lift objects of 20Ibs or more. May involve reaching with arms and hands, bending and stooping
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time
