Who you are: The Head Bartender works hand in hand with the Beverage Director, Service, and Culinary teams on all aspects of bar operations, cocktail development, staff beverage training & upkeep of the bar & cellar areas. The ability to be strategic, flexible, proactive, resourceful, and efficient is in your DNA. Superior written and verbal communication skills, sense of urgency, empathy and attention to detail is crucial. The Head Bartender will be a leader within the bar and front of house team, maintaining service & cleanliness standards while helping to channel the creativity of all bartenders towards an ingredient focused, efficient bar program.
What you'll do:
- Consistently drive a culture of Enlightened Hospitality.
- Encourage entire service team to engage with the cocktail & beer programs and assist in beverage education.
- Cultivate a culture of respect, accountability, and optimism behind the bar.
- Maintain a clean, safe and organized environment at all times.
- Act as a brand ambassador and professionally represent USHG at all times.
- Develop relationships with members of the team and foster positive relationships with all USHG restaurants in order to share best practices.
- Responsible for daily communication with Beverage Director for bar needs.
- Responsible for collaboration with bartenders & Beverage Director for cocktail development.
- Work with Beverage Director to monitor liquor, beer & non-alcoholic pars, oversee ordering for certain items.
- Monitor needs for bar team, including ingredients, dry goods, etc.
- Oversee execution of daily and weekly cleaning schedule for entire bar space.
What we need from you:
- 3 years of relevant bartending experience
- Preferred Bachelor’s Degree or relevant experience in hospitality and beverage
- Excellent Understanding of Excel, Word, Outlook etc.
