Who You Are:
Union Square Hospitality Group (USHG) is searching for a dynamic, creative, and results-oriented Learning & Development Manager who can help implement training content to further the development of our teams. Reporting directly to the Senior Director of Learning and Development, this role will identify training needs, design, and implement training programs, evaluate their effectiveness, and continuously improve the training process. The Learning & Development Manager is a critical role in maintaining the culture of Enlightened Hospitality by working closely with our team to standardize systems and implementation across Union Square Hospitality Group.
The ideal candidate will be flexible and possess a wide range of skills and knowledge for both content creation and leading both technical training and leadership development. This individual should be an inspiration and possess a contagious enthusiasm for investing in people that will help build our leadership bench and fuel our future growth while strengthening our culture.
What You’ll Do:
- Cultivate a culture of Enlightened Hospitality for all stakeholders that supports our business objectives and growth
- Identify and assess the training needs of USHG through job analysis, career paths, and consultation with General Managers and Executive Chefs
- Conceptualize and produce on-the-job written and video-based training programs and curriculum in line with restaurant learning needs including restaurant workflow, personal development, and legally required training
- Gain experience and insight into USHG’s best practices through working in the restaurants and experiencing the restaurant culture and current procedures
- Collaborate with USHG leadership to understand the needs of the organization and recommend appropriate training
- Collect feedback from employees and measure the effectiveness of the training programs
- Make improvements to the training process based on feedback and evaluation data, and continually develop and update training materials
- Work with restaurant employees to evaluate the effectiveness of training and adjust content as needed
- Develop and manage a trainer certification program
- Audit materials to ensure compliance with standard operating procedures, update new restaurant needs, new programs, and legal compliance
- Drive non-operations evolution and development of training materials to support employee development and success
What We Need From You:
- Minimum experience of at least 3 years in learning and development
- Experience in content creation and training delivery
- Ability to create digital training content and deliver via digital platforms
- Superb track record in developing and executing successful training programs
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to train and motivate managers and team members
- Must have a proven track record of producing top results, delivering great customer service, and developing winning teams
- Critical thinker with innovative problem-solving skills
- Strong analytical and organizational skills
- Proficiency in MS Office and other related business and communication tools
