Affiliated with STARR RestaurantsPastis DC has found its home in Washington, DC's vibrant Union Market District! With a nod to its New York City roots, this brasserie features a classic curved zinc bar outfitted with signature subway tiles, vintage mirrors with handwritten daily specials, and a mosaic-tiled floor. Now open with dinner service, guests can find the classic bistro fare Pastis is known for with brunch and lunch services set to follow soon.


The team is currently seeking a Sous Chef who is interested in working with a large, collaborative, cohesive culinary unit executing amazing French fare made with high-quality ingredients and integrity.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of progressive culinary/kitchen management experience in high volume, fast-paced, culinarily driven kitchens
  • Prior experience training and leading a large hourly culinary team
  • Passion for training and development of others
  • Attention to details of food quality, preparation, and presentation
  • Flexible and adaptive to rapidly changing priorities and work demands
  • Strong written and computer skills
