Cedric's at the Shed is looking for a Porter to join their team! Cedric, a Danny Meyer Venue is located inThe Shed&mdasha groundbreaking arts and culture institution in Hudson Yards. Open to the public and accessible via a street-level entrance on West 30thStreet, Cedric serves a menu of cocktails, craft beer, and wine, accompanied by shareable bites, sandwiches, and salads. Cedric draws on the creativity and inventive spirit of The Shed, offering a welcoming and laidback experience for locals and visitors alike.
What you'll do:
- Have a sense of urgency and a strong work ethic to address any facility or stewarding needs that may arise
- Understand Department of Health (DOH) food safety standards and the ability to conform to DOH requirements to run an A-level kitchen
- Be familiar with the back-of-house operations in concessions, commissary production, and restaurant service environments
- Exhibit strong communication and listening skills to develop trusting relationships with peers and guests
- Stay positive and calm under pressure
What we need from you:
- 1-year experience in a porter, stewarding, or maintenance position in a food service environment
- Culinary and/or Beverage Degree/Certification(s)
- Must be able to stand for up to 12 hours and be able to lift 25 lbs. and move or lift up to 50 lbs occasionally
- English fluency and additional languages are preferred, but not required
