The PR & Communications Specialist is responsible for liaising with the internal and external marketing, food & beverage, operations, and PR teams, information management, and maintaining PR assets. The position is Las Vegas-based and will learn the development, execution, and monitoring of PR & marketing campaigns, creating original content, and conducting market research.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
- Manage all assets (fact sheets, press releases, image databases, etc.)
- Oversee company-wide editorial/marketing calendar.
- Assist with media onsite for shoots, interviews, etc.
- Support PR and marketing teams to plan and implement campaigns to increase brand awareness.
- Create press materials (press releases, media alerts, fact sheets, etc.)
- Work directly with media outlets to publish timely company information, such as press releases, media alerts, photos, and other materials.
- Manage, nurture, and grow relationships with media outlets, bloggers, and other personalities while maintaining a centralized database of media contacts.
- Responding to media and influencer inquiries
- Coordinating press and influencer experiences
- Working with celebrity and DJ talent teams on media opportunities
- Help oversee and be on-site for red carpet events, off-site events, pop-ups, talent relations management, openings, etc., with primary roles including on-site item collection, managing photographers/videographers, item approvals, etc.
- Regular reporting of PR coverage for Las Vegas and other markets
- Update and maintain internal and external events calendar.
- Assist and/ or complete additional tasks as assigned
EDUCATION/WORKING KNOWLEDGE:
- Bachelor’s degree in public relations, communications, marketing, or a relevant field
- 2-3 years of experience working in either an in-house PR department or at a local PR agency
- Must have strong organizational and project management skills, as well as attention to detail
- Ability to interact with all levels of staff in a fast pace, high-energy environment while remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful, and efficient, and to maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality
- Must be reliable, collaborative, resourceful, supportive, and a creative problem solver
- Experience pitching and working with media and influencers
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to coordinate and manage simultaneous projects and successfully prioritize multiple tasks while using good judgment to meet deadlines
- Ability to work flexible hours - some nights and weekends
- Strong working knowledge of MS Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
