Kitchen Receiver at Marquis Restaurant

Union Square Events is looking for a Kitchen Receiver to join their growing team! Who you are:

The Kitchen Receiver is responsible for the overall cleanliness and organization of the kitchen at one of New York City's premier Hotels ensuring strict adherence to proper sanitation standards. Additionally, the porter must handle multiple daily responsibilities, display the ability and willingness to take direction, and work in a team environment.

What you'll do:

• Receiving, storage and checking in of food goods.
• Communicating with Sous Chefs of any short/Missing items
• Label, date and rotate food goods using FIFO (first in first out)
• Sorting and organizing items including but not limited to dishes, equipment, and other smallwares
• Sorting and removing garbage
• Sweeping and mopping of kitchen walk-in refrigerators and freezers
• Retrieving necessary equipment to support kitchen operation
• Assist kitchen team in loading/unloading of food hot boxes
• Maintaining a clean and orderly work-station
• Following all food safety standards

What we need from you:

• Able to lift 50lbs. and stand for long periods of time
• Willingness to learn and work in a fast-paced environment
• Possess a sense of urgency
• Positive, friendly, and professional toward everyone
