Kitchen Manager at Mad Mex Shadyside

The Kitchen Manager is directly responsible for overseeing all kitchen functions including food inventory levels, food purchasing and preparation, maintenance of quality standards, and sanitation and cleanliness of the kitchen. Kitchen Managers make employment decisions, and train or oversee the training of employees in methods of cooking, preparation, plate presentation, portion and cost control, and sanitation and cleanliness. They must be knowledgeable of all front of house procedures as well.

The ideal candidate:

  • Must pass a background screen.
  • Has a minimum of 5 years of experience in varied kitchen positions including food preparation, line cook, fry cook and expediter.
  • Has at least 6 months experience in a similar capacity.
  • Communicates clearly and effectively with others.
  • Can reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 40 pounds.
  • Can work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 9 hours).
