Information technology (IT) Systems Engineer maintains computer systems, provide technical support, and teach their clients the basic skills they need to operate newly installed programs.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
- Drive hospitality-centric technologies along with day-to-day duties for corporate support
- Installing and setting up Simphony POS system at the client site, including hardware and software configuration
- Tailoring POS to meet unique needs by adjusting menus, pricing structures, reporting formats and other functionalities
- Provide comprehensive training to staff on how to operate Simphony POS, including order taking, payment processing and other reporting features
- Maintain POS hardware and ensure all venues are fully prepared for operations daily
- Troubleshooting technical issues, resolving system errors, and proving ongoing support post-implementation
- Utilizing Simphony reporting tools to generate insights on sales trends, labor cost, and other KPI’s
- Facilitate all user access to multiple systems including Azure Active Directory, SharePoint, etc.
- Experience in Micros, SAP, OpenTable, Craftable and other hospitality support systems.
- Work within ticketing system, asset management tools, and provisioning tools.
- Creating and responding to support tickets through a ticketing software on client issues
- Provide remote and on-site desktop and notebook technical support, diagnose and resolve any issues, and provide training and guidance to all end users on both Windows and Mac OS
- Ensure end users are trained on all relevant systems and ongoing training needs are assessed and addressed in a timely manner.
- Maintain, analyze, troubleshoot and repair all hardware and computer peripherals.
- Document, maintain, upgrade or replace hardware and software.
- Follow-up with users regularly throughout the issue resolution process to ensure smooth communication.
- Provide up-to-date information to end users in response to specific inquiries.
- Provide notification to Leadership Staff regarding potential issues as they arise.
- Provide and assist IT Engineers in the development, delivery and implementation of training materials.
- Be the users’ advocate to IT Management and the IT Managements’ advocate to the end users.
- Assist IT Administrators in backup/recovery procedures.
- Maintain asset and inventory control of computers, hardware, software and peripherals.
- Assist IT Administrators and IT management in any special projects and assignments as directed.
- Assist and/ or complete additional tasks as assigned
- Perform on-call duties and technical implementations/upgrades that may occur after normal business hours and on weekends as required to minimize business impact
- Complete any other duties as assigned by direct supervisor or member of the IT leadership team.
EDUCATION/WORKING KNOWLEDGE:
- College Degree or equivalent
- Hospitality experience a plus
- Proof of eligibility to work in the United States
- Valid Driver’s License
- Must be eligible to obtain a Passport for international travel.
- 21+ years of age
- Proficient in Windows Microsoft Office, POS systems, Oracle knowledge preferred
- 5+ years of experience in computer systems or corporate IT support preferred
- CompTIA A+ and/or other certificates preferred
- Experience with workstations, cell phones, printing systems, hardware and software repairs
- Experience with Lan/Wan support
- Good verbal and communication skills
