Union Square Events is looking for a Banquet Event Concierge to join their growing team!

Who you are:

The Banquet Event Concierge supports the Event Operations team in serving our guests and clients by acting as a liaison between all designated clients, points-of-contact, the Event Management team, and the Banquet team. Their role is to ensure that all functions and events run smoothly, to facilitate timely and accurate communication between all parties, monitor staff performance, execute all steps of service, logistics, and changes, and ensure all expectations are exceeded

 

What you’ll do:

  • Check room set-up before function start time to ensure BEO directions are properly followed including but not limited to furniture placement, tablecloths, silverware settings, napkins, and centerpieces
  • Meet group coordinator/host(ess) before functions, make introductions, and ensure that all arrangements are agreeable including but not limited to timing and guarantees of food and beverage, set up details, steps of service, the meeting agenda, and details of the agenda
  • Read and analyze banquet event orders (BEOs) to gather guest information, determine proper set up, timeline, specific guest needs, buffets, action stations, etc., and collaborate with all event staff to accommodate client and guest requests
  • Ensure banquet staff is ready to begin on time and according to plan. Report any deviations from the plan to the Banquet Managers
  • Demonstrates confident knowledge of the hotel, its resources, and services and confidently demonstrates the ability to and its ability to impact interactions with clients and guests

 

What we need from you:

 

  • 1-year experience in banquet/catering/events, preferably within a hotel environment
  • Strong Computer Skills/Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Strong Communication Skills (verbal/oral/listening)
  • Strong People Management Skills
  • Perform any related duties as requested by the supervisor/manager
